The Tennessee Volunteers are preparing for a crucial final game of their 2024 campaign—the Citrus Bowl against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Without their starting quarterback, the Vols will try to win a game against a ranked team, a feat they haven’t accomplished yet this season. Although Joe Milton III will be with the team this week in Orlando, Florida, he has chosen not to play in the Citrus Bowl in favor of concentrating on his NFL Draft preparation.

On Wednesday afternoon, Milton thanked the Vols and all those involved for his development in a message he posted on Instagram. Milton experienced difficulties at the University of Michigan before to moving to Knoxville, Tennessee. After finishing his one season as Rocky Top’s full-time starter with 3,112 all-purpose yards and 27 touchdowns, he is now heading to the NFL Draft.

Vol Nation: Let me start by giving thanks to God for giving me the skill and capacity to play this game that we all like. In my time at Tennessee, I’ve picked up a lot of knowledge. What’s best is being a manga artist. It just came down to giving Tennessee my all every day. Working with my brothers day in and day out was ode littt! I cherish all of you, boys. Mane, I promise to always be there for you guys, no matter what. I’m excited to cheer you guys on this week in Orlando.

Thank you to Coach Heup, Coach Halzle, and Coach Mitch for helping me grow as a man and to all of my coaches for helping me become a better player every day. HONOR. It was incredible to play inside Club Neyland because of the excitement, cacophony, and especially Running Through the “T.” It will all be missed by me. Since I was four years old, my desire has always been to play in the NFL. It’s time to start preparing for the 2024 NFL Draft and make those goals come true. I appreciate everything, Vol Nation. JoJo is gone.”
