Good news for Brisbane’s as head coach selected…

Corey Jensen, one of Brisbane’s more seasoned forwards, is in a good position to earn a starting position in 2024, but he is aware that both new players and seasoned veterans will be fierce competitors.

The prop is staking his claim to regain a starting spot in light of the departures of Tom Flegler, Kurt Capewell, and Keenan Palasia. The prop is upset over missing the finals series after playing in.

For Brisbane’s season opener in Las Vegas, Jensen is aware that he will face opposition from veteran Martin Taupau, as well as from up-and-coming players like Xavier Willison and Benjamin Te Kura. Additionally, newcomers Fletcher Baker and Jaiyden Hunt are also considered contenders.

“A significant portion of the forward pack that participated in the grand final has left, and many young players are emerging. Marty and I, on the other hand, have a little bit more experience, but we’re all vying for spots,” Jensen remarked.

We practice hard, and whomever gets a slot will do the job. The club benefits greatly from competition since it pushes each other and me daily. I strive to do the same for them.

“Although the club has lost a lot of experience, I think they’re in a great position with a lot of the younger players coming through. It may take some time for them to develop, but I think these young guys have a lot of upside and potential.”

Benny Te Kura, Xavier, [back] Deine Mariner, and all these young players who have experienced first grade or who may play first grade and will play for a long time in first grade.

At thirty-nine, Jensen is only three games away from reaching 100 career games. Throughout the summer, he has worked to strengthen his own game to support his argument, all the while putting the needs of the team first and being willing to help his positional opponents advance.

The former Cowboy stated, “I think the club’s in a great position and it’s just about us working hard.”

“I just work hard in my training and try to lead by example for many of the guys here.”

I need to find methods to stay on my toes and keep improving because I’m not getting any younger.

“I’m attempting to accomplish that and simply trying to put small things into practice, but I’m also trying to support the young guys.”

The Broncos, who were among the latest teams to begin preseason practice, presently have every player back on the field, but some players—such as forwards Baker, who is recuperating from surgery on his groyne, and Jordan Riki, who is making his comeback from shoulder surgery—are being kept an eye on for injuries.

All players are expected to be selected for the game in Vegas, including Jesse Arthars, who injured his ankle during practice last week. Payne Haas also exercised apart from the rest of the team in an attempt to better control his workload after complaining of overall hamstring discomfort.
