Al-Quadin Muhammad, an experienced defensive end with the Indianapolis Colts, has been suspended for six games for breaking the NFL’s drug policy.

A player is being suspended for the same offense at the same time that interior defense Grover Stewart of the Indianapolis Colts returns from a six-game suspension for breaking the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Al-Quadin Muhammad, a seasoned pass rusher, was punished for six games for violating the policy regarding performance-enhancing drugs.

Unless the Colts can secure a playoff place, Muhammad’s 2023 year is done. Muhammad’s punishment would extend to Week 1 of the 2024 season if the Indianapolis Colts miss the playoffs, with five games left in the regular season.

Muhammad did not play in any games during the 2023 regular season as of yet, it is true. However, he was an essential member of the team’s practice squad, helping to get the offensive line ready for strong and quick edge rushers.

Muhammad returned to the Colts practice squad this season after spending the entire 2022 season with the Chicago Bears, where he had his best-ever season in 2021. Under Matt Eberflus, the current head coach of the Bears, and the former defensive coordinator, Muhammad recorded career highs in 2021 in terms of sacks (6), combined tackles (48), and quarterback hits (13).

We’ll see if this ban has an adverse effect on Indianapolis’ offense’s readiness for the final five games of the regular season. They hope to finish the regular season without encountering any significant challenges as they are currently outside the playoff picture.
