SO SAD: BAD NEWS FOR MCCARDELL AS HE WAS SUSPENDED BY HEAD COACH FOR..

Keenan McCardell will coordinate the offensive plays during Pro Bowl games.

Kansas City Chiefs v Minnesota Vikings

This offseason, there were speculations that Keenan McCardell, the wide receiver coach for the Minnesota Vikings, was being considered for an offensive coordinator role, and now he has that chance Kind of.

The offensive coordinators for the flag football game at this year’s Pro Bowl Games, which will take place in February one week before the Super Bowl, are McCardell and former New England Patriots star Wes Welker. Welker will call plays for the AFC, and McCardell will work with the NFC. Welker is the Miami Dolphins’ wide receivers coach at the moment.

Both teams have defensive coordinators: Ray Lewis is in charge for the AFC, while DeMarcus Ware and McCardell are with the NFC.

The New Orleans Saints were reportedly interested in having McCardell interview for many offensive coordinator roles during the previous season, and they hope to fill the post this offseason. Even if nothing has materialized thus far, the Vikings shouldn’t anticipate that McCardell will be content to remain the wide receivers coach for the rest of his career—even if it means collaborating with Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson every day.

Although it may not seem like much on the surface, McCardell has earned enough respect in the league to be granted the opportunity to serve as offensive coordinator for a flag football game. The Pro Bowl Games’ last day, which occurs on, will see the flag football match on 4 February in Orlando.

“It will be beneficial to be in front of the finest players in the league,” McCardell, who played for 16 years and had 11,373 receiving yards, stated. Just demonstrate your skill set. Are you able to call plays and pass the ball to guys? I know it’s an exhibition for those guys, but it’s still fun. I am aware of how short their attention span is. I’m just aware that when the game is about to conclude, those competitive spirits ignite, so you have to be prepared to make the appropriate calls for them. All I want is an opportunity to prove that I can call plays.
