Done DEAL Leeds Has Finally Captured The Title After Signing A Record-Breaking $42 Million Contract

Ben Godfrey, a 26-year-old defender with ties to Leeds United, has been linked to Everton. Sean Dyche has stated the team’s position on the matter and given his reasoning.

In an attempt to bolster United’s defensive options, Godfrey has been linked to a January transfer to Elland Road; however, Whites manager Daniel Farke declined to provide a name when questioned about Godfrey during Wednesday’s pre-Bristol City press conference.

Godfrey has had to make do with little playing time at Everton this season, but in Tuesday night’s Premier League match against Fulham, the defender only received his third league start of the year.

As part of a goalless draw, his performance helped the Toffees secure a clean sheet. Dyche then praised Godfrey, saying he is “in the mix” at Everton.According to the Liverpool Echo, Dyche stated, “You can only pick 11, and he’s been unfortunate over his time here under me, but he’s been working very hard.”

Funny enough, I told him a few days ago that he was in the mix and right there, and we just gave him that assurance.

“Now that he’s playing [at Fulham], perhaps he gets it. I explain it to each and every player. “Look, training matters, and performances matter,” I say. No one is given a pass. Nobody is given a free pass or assured a spot on the squad each week. We talk about it with the staff and work to put together a squad that is competitive.

In an attempt to give Godfrey a chance at Fulham based on what he had seen recently, Dyche said, “His defensive responsibility, which was clear tonight.” His ability to guard the back post with excellent clearance, his strength and pace, among other things, are all impressive.

“Selecting a team capable of winning games is not always simple. Ben was playing the correct game, in my opinion, and I don’t think Patto (Nathan Patterson) has been playing poorly. He did a fantastic job performing.

“It’s my job to compete on the weekend so it’s always tough when you don’t get the opportunity to be involved in Premier League games,” Godfrey stated to evertontv following the game.
