Trent Jordan, the Pittsburgh Steelers player, had his ban upheld on Wednesday.

The NFL and the NFL Players Association jointly selected hearing officer James Thrash, who affirmed Jordan’s punishment for the remainder of the regular season, the league said in a post on X, the original name of Twitter.

Thrash did declare that, should the team advance to the playoffs, Jordan is qualified to rejoin the active squad.

Jordan’s ban for the balance of the regular season has been upheld by hearing officer James Thrash, who was nominated by both the NFL and NFLPA. In addition, Thrash decided that if the team made it to the playoffs, Jordan may rejoin the active squad.

Jordan was suspended without pay for the rest of the regular season earlier this week due to a rule violation pertaining to player safety. It followed Jordan’s rough tackle of Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. on December 16 during their game.

Following his hit on Pittman in the second quarter, Jordan was flagged and taken out of the game. Pittman sustained a concussion on the play.

Jordan has been fined five times in the 2023 season, so this week wasn’t the first time he’s faced penalties.

Tom Brady is among the athletes who have defended Jordan following the punishment. The renowned quarterback expressed his emotions on the punishment on Instagram.
