The San Antonio Spurs went into their game against the New Orleans Pelicans on February 2 hoping to end a two-game losing streak. They have missed opportunities to win games against the Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards. Sadly, Friday night continued much of the same.
For a significant chunk of the game, the Spurs held the lead, but the Pelicans took the lead in the fourth quarter. In the end, the game came down to the wire, but New Orleans prevailed 114-113 over San Antonio thanks to a basket by Zion Williamson in the closing seconds.

Williamson had a fantastic game against the Spurs in addition to making the game-winning layup. He shot 12-of-21 from the floor and completed the game with 33 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.
Wembanyama, for his part, was also not too bad. At the conclusion of the game, he shot 0-of-3 from outside the arc and finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, four steals, and three blocks.
