According to NFL report; Eagles signing a veteran WL from New England patriots for…

Britain Covey, a punt returner for the Philadelphia Eagles, hopes to play a bigger part in the passing game the next season.

PHILADELPHIA: As free agency opens in March and the 2024 NFL Draft gets underway in April, all eyes will be on the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive line. That is comparable to their Super Bowl squad from the previous year, when they lost five starters.

But the offence won’t go unpunished.

To support DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, the Eagles need receivers.

Olamide Zaccheaus, Julio Jones, and Quez Watkins are probably no longer with us.

After the season, the Eagles signed Shaquan Davis, Jacob Harris, Gryphon Hebert, and Austin Davis to futures contracts as receivers. Additionally, Joseph Ngata, who spent the entire previous season on the practice squad, is returning.

Are any of them making a difference for the front desk?

Devon Allen, who ended the year on the injured reserve of the practice squad, intends to recover in time to attempt to earn a spot in the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

And then there is Covey, Britain. Being an exclusive-rights free agent, his only desire is to return to the NovaCare Complex in the spring to resume his pursuit of a pass-catching position.

“Yeah, I want to come back,” the former Utah undrafted free agent remarked. “Are you serious? I wouldn’t want to be in any other location.

Due to an injury sustained during training camp, Covey was unable to participate in the preseason. After the New England Patriots’ season opener, he was cut and did not return.

His chances of making an impact as a receiver might have been negatively impacted by missing that period.

This year, not receiving it truly upset me,” he remarked. “I would have participated if they had been regular season games. In my two years in the NFL, I have not missed a single game.

“If it was a “real” game, I would have participated; however, in the preseason, it wasn’t worth it, even though I felt like it did damage me not to be able to record any receiver reps. I haven’t missed a game in the last four years of my career.
