Mason Greenwood may face suspension from several matches with Getafe due to a violation.
Mason Greenwood, a football player for Manchester United who is presently on loan at Getafe, disobeyed the head coach’s order, the Sun claims.
The day before the La Liga match against Real Betis, the Spanish team’s winger reportedly visited Burger King. Getafe’s head coach Bordalas forbids his players from consuming fast food, therefore it’s possible that Greenwood will miss multiple games due to diet violations.
Social media posts regarding Greenwood hitting model Harriet Robson—with whom he had previously been in a relationship—surfaced early on January 30, 2022. In a statement, Manchester United said that Greenwood had been suspended indefinitely from both practices and games. Greenwood was taken into custody by Greater Manchester Police that same day on charges of assault and sexual assault.
Greenwood was granted bail and released on February 2, 2022. The Crown Prosecution Service declared on February 2, 2023, that all charges against Greenwood had been withdrawn as a result of the “emergence of new material” and the withdrawal of significant witness statements.
Manchester United did not take a chance on adding the forward back to the squad, though, even after the accusations of sexual assault were withdrawn. Greenwood joined Getafe on loan. He participated in six games for the Spanish squad, recording one assist and one goal.
