The Port Vale Football Club is happy to announce that James Wilson has agreed to a longer contract.
The striker will play with the Valiants for the minimum of the 2023–2024 season thanks to the extended contract.
Wilson, 28, has already scored for Andy Crosby’s team several times this season, including crucial goals against Carlisle United, Charlton Athletic, and, most recently, when he came back to the team and scored the equaliser away from home against Wycombe Wanderers.
“Aside from the regrettable impact injury he sustained against Newcastle United’s U21s, James has made the most of his training and game availability, which was the primary task assigned to him when he re-signed with the team in the summer.
James possesses exceptional abilities both on and off the pitch, and he perfectly exemplifies every quality that Port Vale FC looks for. At the very least, we’re all excited to collaborate with him for the remainder of the season.
James’s dedication both on and off the pitch has earned him this extension. His desire to be as available as possible before to his untimely injury was precisely what we wanted to see in him, and his behind-the-scenes labour and dedication to his recovery were exceptional.
It’s wonderful to have James back on the team and settled in. We have missed his skill and game knowledge.
“We are excited to see what James can do for the team in the second half of the season, and I would like to thank his agent for making the deal happen.”
