So Sad: T. Siemian was suspended from New York Jets For Violating the…

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, defensive back T. Siemian of the New York Jets has been suspended for one game during the 2023 season for violating the personal conduct rules.

This story states that Siemian was “accepted into a diversionary program earlier this year, related to his role in a high-speed crash in 2022.”

But it’s unclear if that encounter had anything to do with his suspension.

Following the collision, which left Stephen Gilberg partially paralyzed and with broken ribs, Siemian was charged with fourth-degree assault by auto and received motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, speeding, unsafe lane changes, improper passing, and failure to use a seatbelt, according to Lori Comstock of the New Jersey Herald.

According to the police report, Siemian was traveling at 84 mph in a 50 mph zone before to the collision.

Once he complies with the terms of the agreement, Siemian will be able to avoid the accusations that were brought against him thanks to the three-year pretrial intervention program. In addition, he had to pay Gilberg $54,460 and face a six-month license suspension.

Siemian accepted the diversionary program as part of a pretrial plea agreement, but he did not enter a guilty plea. The accident, according to Gilberg, would “forever haunt” him.

“While I’ve made certain strides physically, such as learning to walk again albeit not in the same way I used to, it’s the nerve damage and the pain you don’t see,” he stated during a hearing in February 2022. “The physical things I will never be able to do and the psychological trauma I am living with every single day that will continue to impact the rest of my life.”

In his debut campaign in 2021, Echols, 25, made a significant impact for the Jets by recording 63 tackles, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and nine passes defensed in 14 starts.

He was limited to a special teams duty last season after Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed were added at cornerback, recording just eight tackles and two passes defensed in 13 games (with zero starts).
