The previous two months have seen a lot of change for the Alabama football program with the departure of Nick Saban and the appointment of Kalen DeBoer. There is turnover in the program at many levels, but one of the most obvious is in terms of personnel on the field, as is the case with every coaching change.

Although the football program has suffered some losses due to the transfer portal, DeBoer and his staff have also made significant efforts to add talented players from the portal to the roster. Parker Brailsford, Germie Bernard, and Austin Mack were the three outstanding Washington players who had previously left Seattle to join DeBoer; but, on Monday, the Tide added two more players to its roster through the portal: former Washington tight end Josh Cuevas and

Cuevas, who will reunite with his former position coach Nick Sheridan in Tuscaloosa, becomes the fourth former offensive Husky to depart Washington and go with the Tide. Before coming to Washington, he spent two seasons as a player at Cal Poly. For the Pac-12 winners, Cuevas participated in all 15 games and had four receptions for 164 yards and a score.

After traveling from Michigan to Tuscaloosa via the transfer portal, Sabb is there because Jim Harbaugh took a head coaching position in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers. DeBoer has acquired his first defensive transfer in the 6-foot-1 safety. He attended New Jersey for his high school football career before moving to Florida to attend IMG Academy.

After signing with the Michigan Wolverines, the four-star prospect from the Class of 2022 has played in eighteen games in the last two seasons. During the national championship season, he had 28 tackles, two interceptions, and a defensive score; one of those tackles came in the Rose Bowl triumph over Alabama.

During this offseason cycle, the Crimson Tide has added eight players via the transfer portal; five of them chose Alabama after switching to coach Nick Boer. In April, the spring transfer gateway window begins, providing DeBoer with even more opportunity to bolster his roster with talent.
