The following additions may, or perhaps even ought to, thrill Cardinals supporters come next week and beyond:
To have an impact, the Cardinals must have a player up front who can change the game. Though we all witnessed the impact Jones had during the Super Bowl, if given the opportunity, I would rather have the younger Wilkins.
On the other hand, Wilkins is a good team captain and locker room person by all accounts. At best a top-20 defensive lineman in the league, he is in his prime and would be a fantastic addition should Arizona be able to lock him up.
Though Wilkins will not be cheap, he should make Cardinals fans (and their front office) happy, even though Leonard Williams or DJ Reader would be good consolation prizes:
Even if they take a cornerback high and see progress from Garrett Williams, Starling Thomas, and/or Kei’Trel Clark, the Cardinals still need a cornerback of the starting calibre. These three might all satisfy that requirement.
Darby, who would be the most reliable of the three, might be the most versatile, Kendall Fuller would be the most adaptable, and Okudah would have the most upside (boom or bust):
