NBA Suspends New San Antonio Spurs Player
Joshua Primo, who most recently played for the San Antonio Spurs, has been suspended, the NBA has confirmed.
After playing one season of collegiate basketball for the Alabama Crimson Tide, Joshua Primo was originally selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
The Spurs cut Primo in the middle of the previous campaign due to accusations.
The NBA declared on Friday morning that Primo will be out of commission for four games.
Over 54 regular season games, Primo has career averages of 5.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 37.2% from the field and 30.2% from the three-point range.
The 20-year-old has also participated in G League action with the Austin Spurs.
In 17 Showcase Cup games, he shot 41.4% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range, averaging 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.
He has averaged 16.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game throughout the first seven games of the regular season. He has also shot 39.4% from the field and 42.1% from three-point range.
Primo is now a free agent, open to signing with any team in the league.
