Major League Baseball fined and suspended Bryce Harper one game on Wednesday for his actions following this week’s expulsion.
According to the commissioner’s office, Harper made the decision to appeal the penalty and will be able to play until the procedure is complete. The NL MVP from the previous season was batting third and playing right field for the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night as they took on the Detroit Tigers. By the time Harper’s ban became public, reporters were not allowed inside Washington’s clubhouse.
