Knights forward Leo Thompson, who entered a guilty plea to a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charge involving Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen, will miss his team’s game against the Warriors on Sunday.

After making contact with Papenhuyzen in midair during the Round 3 match, the Kiwi international was placed on report in the 65th minute of play. The early plea resulted in a one-match punishment.

In Round 5, Thompson is eligible to play again when the Knights play St George Illawarra at home.

Following the Round 3 matches on Saturday, four players, including Api Koroisau and Stefano Utoikamanu of the Wests Tigers, entered early guilty pleas.

In response to an early guilty plea to a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge, Utoikamanu was fined $1000, and Koroisau accepted a $1000 punishment for a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact penalty.

In addition, Dragons rookie Jesse Marschke, who entered an early guilty plea to a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Cowboys halfback Chad Townsend, was fined $1000.

Sharks forward Cameron McInnes was the other player charged; he was fined $750 for a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle that occurred in the 48th minute of Saturday night’s game against the Wests Tigers.

After his team’s victory over the Broncos, Panthers forward Matt Eisenhuth filed an early guilty plea for a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge offense. He also received a $1000 fine.
