Despite having two of the highest-paid players in the NBA on their roster, the Los Angeles Lakers begin the 2023–24 season with the 11th-highest payroll in the NBA ($168 million). LeBron James is expected to earn little more than $47 million this season, tying Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic for third place in the league. Anthony Davis, who earns $40.6 million annually, is not far behind. Earlier this year, Davis agreed to a $186 million, three-year contract deal, which would pay him $62 million in the 2026–2027 season.
