Houston will have a far more stable roster heading into the 2024 offseason than it did in 2023, when the Rockets splurged on big-name players like Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet by going well below the NBA salary cap.

Those veterans (VanVleet, Brooks, and Adams) join Houston’s young core of recently drafted first-round prospects: Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun, from 2021; Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason, from 2022; and Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore, from 2023.

Here’s an updated look at the Rockets’ roster entering the 2024 offseason. Ages are as of Feb. 25, 2024, while salary details are from HoopsHype.

The bulk of the players on the 2023–24 roster are either under contract or have team options for the following season; moreover, the acquisition of Steven Adams in February 2024 added a sizeable veteran salary to the books. Rafael Stone, the general manager, therefore plans to operate above the salary cap.

VanVleet, Brooks, and Adams, together with their younger core of newly drafted first-round prospects, Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun (2021), Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason (2022), and Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore (2023), complete out Houston’s lineup of senior players.

This is a current roster analysis of the Rockets heading into the 2024–2025 offseason. The salary information is from HoopsHype, and the ages are as on February 25, 2024.
