The Eagles want to be a contender in 2024 after losing in the 2023 playoffs earlier than they had intended.
To assist them achieve their objectives, they have gained a few crucial pieces, but they have also lost significant players, notably Haason Reddick.
Although Reddick has moved on, his former jersey number seven wasn’t empty for very long.
Kenny Pickett will wear number seven, at least through the 2024 season, as the NFL Jersey Numbers page on Twitter notes.
After being traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pickett joined the Eagles, which at the time was a fairly unexpected decision.
Justin Fields and
are the two new quarterbacks the Steelers have added to their roster as a result of their aggressive participation in free agency.
The Steelers were forced to let go of Pickett because there was no room for him on the roster in light of these signings.
Although Pickett’s time in Pittsburgh didn’t turn out the way he and the organization had intended, the Eagles offer him a fresh start to further his development as a young passer.
Unless Jalen Hurts is hurt, e might not have a chance to start in 2024, but the Eagles coaching staff should be able to help him advance.
The Eagles are more than willing to give Pickett the tools he needs to have a successful, long NFL career, so this might be a stepping stone for him to find his next position.
