General manager Bill Guerin stated that Minnesota Wild forward Matt Boldy is out for the week due to an upper-body ailment, as reported by Michael Russo of The Athletic.
During Saturday’s loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boldy sustained an injury.
In his first full NHL season, Boldy, 22, finished 81 games with 31 goals and 32 assists for the Wild.
After suffering a lower body injury in last week’s season opener versus Vegas, Brandon Tanev will be out of the Kraken lineup for at least a month.
On Monday, The Kraken revealed that Tanev will be out for four to six weeks.
He gives it his all every night in competition, bringing intensity and pace. “All of those elements, he’s been a big part of our penalty kill,” Seattle coach Dave Hakstol stated. “You hate to see guys hurt, especially in the beginning of the game, but we’ll be without him for a few weeks and that’s just part of the game.”
After Tanev was struck by Brett Howden of Vegas, he was given a two-game suspension and a match penalty for a “illegal hit to the head.” The blow caused Tanev to buckle, and he slid awkwardly onto the ice, pinning his left leg beneath him.
Six minutes into Vegas’ 4-1 third-period win, there was a hit.
Tanev played in all 82 games for the Kraken last season, setting career highs with 16 goals and 19 assists. Tanev’s knee tore ACL, which kept him out of action for more than half of the 2021–22 season.
Joel Edmundson, a defenseman, has been placed on long-term injured reserve by the Capitals.
After breaking his hand, Edmundson would miss four to six weeks, the team stated on September 27.
Meanwhile, following Charlie Lindgren’s injury during a morning skate, the Capitals recalled goalie Clay Stevenson from AHL Hershey on Monday. Lindgren is taken into account daily.
