Since quarterback Kyler Murray’s contract was activated today by staying on the team, the Arizona Cardinals will pay him more money in 2025—at least guaranteed money. From Tom Pelissero of NFL Media on Twitter/X: “By being on the #Cardinals’ roster at 4 p.m. ET today, Kyler Murray now has an additional $29.9 million fully guaranteed for 2025, on top of the $35.3M he’s guaranteed this season on the contract he signed in July 2022.”

The Cardinals were without Murray for the first half of 2023, seeing names such as Joshua Dobbs and Clayton Tune get starts while the former No. 1 pick rehabbed from a torn ACL and meniscus.

Murray returned and immediately upgraded Arizona’s offensive play. Though the Cardinals finished with a 4-13 record, a healthy Murray is a big reason why many in the desert have hope moving forward.

Murray, who is currently 26 years old, has a hefty five-year, $230.5 million contract that will start this season with a $51.4 million cap hit.
