WR Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings will not play against the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

According to reports, Justin Jefferson, a prominent player for the Minnesota Vikings, won’t play again until after the team’s bye week.

Jefferson won’t be activated before the Vikings’ Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Afterwards, the Vikings verified that Jefferson has been demoted to out.

Jefferson will have missed seven games after he sustained a hamstring injury in the first part of October. He returned to practice earlier this month after being placed on injured reserve. Since his injury, Jefferson and the Vikings have insisted that they will hold off on making a decision until he is fully recovered. According to Pelissero, Jefferson is “expected to be 100% after the bye” and is probably going to play on December 10 against the Raiders of Las Vegas.

Jefferson will go back to injured reserve (IR) for the duration of the season if the Vikings don’t add him to the active roster by Wednesday, which is 21 days after he resumed practice.

Jefferson was averaging 7.2 catches and 114.2 yards per game prior to his injury. Upon his comeback, he will have a new quarterback in Josh Dobbs, an upgraded offensive line, and a dominant No. 2 in Jordan Addison.

Jefferson blasted fantasy football players who had chastised him for his absence on social media last week.

Of the six games that Jefferson has missed thus far, the Vikings have won five of them. They have a 6-5 record and are ranked second in the NFC North going into the Bears game.

The only other noteworthy Vikings with injury statuses going into Monday night’s game are defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga and cornerback Akayleb Evans, according to the most recent injury report. Both are marked as dubious.
