As the Washington Wizards wrapped up a brief practice on Saturday afternoon in the Golden One Center, Bradley Beal focused on making jumpers from his preferred spots on the floor. Beal was the final player on the court and the last person to board the charter bus as his teammates wrapped up and put away their low-top sneakers. Beal appeared to want to put in as much effort as possible, maybe due to undetermined consequences from his altercation with Warriors forward Draymond Green on Friday night.
Both Beal and Green were ejected from the game and by Saturday, league officials had interviewed multiple players for their roles in the scuffle. Although the NBA has yet to announce any additional punishments, after leaving the Sacramento Kings’ practice facility, Beal shared his honest prediction.
“I’m expecting a suspension,” Beal said. “Because of our NBA and the entire situation of it. When you look at film, they’re going to think I purposely tried to hit [Green] in the face. The way it looks, they’re going to interpret it that way. So, I’m expecting it.”
“We prepared for it today just in case that does happen,” Beal said. “The team prepared for it but at the same time, I’m still positive that I will play and just receive a fine for it.”
“(League security) just wanted to know what happened and I explained the course throughout the game what was going on,” Beal said. “You pretty much explain your side.”
