NEW DELHI: Cricket West Indies (CWI) has signed bowler Shamar Joseph to an international retainer deal following his outstanding performance at the Gabba Test against Australia, where the West Indies won for the first time on Australian soil in more than 20 years. With this incredible accomplishment, Joseph moves from a Franchise deal to an International retainer contract, acknowledging his crucial contribution to the historic victory in Brisbane. In an official statement, the West Indies praised Joseph’s great performance, pointing out that his seven wickets in the second innings helped the team win by eight runs, which was Australia’s first loss to the West Indies since 1997.
