Due to injuries at the position, inside linebacker Krys Barnes started six of the 16 games he played in for the Arizona Cardinals last season, playing a good supporting role. 50% of the special teams snaps and 39% of the defensive snaps were played by Barnes. After spending three seasons with the Packers on a one-year contract, he returned to the organization in 2024 on a less generous one-year contract. Because it is a veteran qualifying deal, just $985,000 of the basic salary of $1.125 million is deducted from the limit. A $100,000 signing bonus and a possible total of $67,500 in per-game ($3,971) roster bonuses are included in the $1,148,529 cap charge.
