In Game 3 of their Western Conference first-round series against the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Lakers may be receiving reinforcements—or they may not.
Christian Wood and Jarred Vanderbilt, two important Laker role players, were reportedly expected to return by Thursday’s game, but as of Wednesday, head coach Darvin Ham had no update on their status.
Additionally, Lakers team reporter Mike Trudell stated that only a few players participated in Wednesday’s practice.
Reporters and sources close to the Laker team posted video of Wood practicing following practice, despite the fact that no noteworthy information was disclosed.
Wood had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, which caused him to miss the final two months of the season. with his first season with Los Angeles, the 28-year-old averaged 6.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 50 games.
The likelihood that Vanderbilt plays in Game 3 appears low. His right mid-foot ailment has kept him out of action for the final two months of the campaign. If he’s ready, Vanderbilt, who last played on February 1st, will try to make a big impression during these playoffs.
