Angels News: A Nightmare for Mike Trout’s Heavy Contract?

The most promising player for the Halos in the future is star outfielder Mike Trout. Trout is once again the team’s greatest and most skilled star, with Shohei Ohtani departing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Trout’s contract is the primary source of concern. Through 2030, he will be owed $35.45 million every season. Many people in the league now consider this contract to be unfavorable.

Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report compiled a list of the top ten nightmare baseball contracts that could be signed by 2026. Trout was ranked No. 5 in the list.

Trout gained interest as a possible trade candidate heading into the offseason, but general manager Perry Minasian promptly dismissed that notion. Trout will stay with the team for the time being, but the Angels are currently facing a significant issue.

In spite of Trout’s game-changing abilities when healthy, his recent track record of poor health means he might not be worth his contract any longer in the eyes of rival executives. He had a down-productive season in 2023 and was again injured at the end of the year.

The team is depending on Trout’s health, and he will be given every chance to try to return to his MVP form. The Angels could be able to compete if he can remain healthy.

The Angels will be well-served by Trout if he can return to his MVP level. However, there’s little chance of that happening, so eventually the Halos could have to move him.
