The running back J.K. Dobbins was signed by the Los Angeles Chargers today.

After playing for the Baltimore Ravens for his first four professional seasons (2020–23), Dobbins moves to Los Angeles. Dobbins has averaged 5.8 rushing yards per carry since joining the league as the Ravens’ second-round (55th overall) selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. This is the greatest average of any running back in the NFL over the last four years (minimum 200 rushing attempts). In 24 regular-season games (10 starts), Dobbins has amassed 1,347 yards and 12 touchdowns on 234 runs. In addition, he has caught 27 passes for 177 yards (6.6 average.) and one receiving touchdown. Dobbins amassed 235 scrimmage yards on 40 touches (5.9 average.) with two scrimmage touchdowns in three postseason appearances (two starts).

Dobbins helped lead the NFL’s top-ranked rushing attack in 2020 as a rookie, averaging 805 yards on the ground and nine rushing touchdowns. He also set a franchise rookie record by scoring a touchdown in each of his final six regular season games, becoming just the fourth rookie to do so in a stretch of six games since 1970.

During his stay in Columbus, Dobbins, an Ohio State graduate who was selected to the All-Big Ten Conference three times between 2017 and 2019, assisted the Buckeyes in winning three consecutive Big Ten Championships. After finishing his career at Ohio State with a single-season program-record 2,003 yards of rushing, the La Grange, Texas, native was named to the first team of the All-America team and received the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which is given to the best offensive player in college football each year. At the end of his three seasons with the Buckeyes, Dobbins recorded 4,459 running yards and 38 rushing touchdowns on 725 attempts (6.2 average.). He also hauled in 71 receptions for 645 yards (9.1 avg.) and five receiving scores.
