Regarding the recent contract negotiations with the New York Yankees, Juan Soto provided an update.

The next question was whether or not superstar Juan Soto would sign an extension after the New York Yankees made a blockbuster trade for him.

Michael King, Jhony Brito, Randy Vasquez, Drew Thorpe, and Kyle Higashioka were acquired by the San Diego Padres. Trent Grisham was also acquired by the Yankees in the trade.

Although it made sense for New York to make this move, it would be disastrous to give up this much and not extend Soto. They’ve paired Aaron Judge with their next big star, and losing him is just not possible.

He might be looking for far over $500 million, according to many, which would put pressure on the Yankees front staff to hand him a blank check and leave the room.

Already a three-time All-Star, World Series winner, and four-time Silver Slugger, Soto is only 25 years old. His career accomplishments surpass those of any other 25-year-old in Major League Baseball history.

Since Soto is represented by Scott Boras, New York is the first to know that there won’t be any deals.

Even if Soto is having the time of his life in New York City, Boras won’t allow him to contract for a penny less than what he feels is fair.

Soto discussed his impending contract with Chris Kirschner of The Athletic in a recent Q&A.

“I simply have faith in Scott,” said Boras, his agent. He has supported me through everything since I was a young child and has been there for me.”
