Three New Orleans Breakers, including Saquan Hampton for safety, sign.

In the past two days, the New Orleans Breakers have signed offensive lineman Lo Falemaka for $850 million, former Monmouth running back Peter Guerriero, and former New Orleans Saints safety Saquan Hampton.

Smith Award (2015), Homer Hazel Award (2018), and Reese’s Senior Bowl Defensive Player of the Week (2018) Professional Experience: Edmonton Elks (CFL, 2022), New York Jets (2020–2021), and New Orleans Saints (2019–2020) Saquan Hampton played four seasons (seven starts) for the Rutgers University football team after a redshirt year in 2014. Over that time, he recorded 177 tackles (120 solo and 57 assisted), 7 tackles for loss, 24 pass deflections, 5 interceptions, and a recovered fumble.

Hampton entered the 2019 NFL Draft after the 2018 season, and the New Orleans Saints selected him in the sixth round. Before being placed on injured reserve in the middle of December 2019, he participated in five games. In September 2020, he was waived after receiving an injury settlement. Hampton got a practice squad contract with the New York Jets following his release from the Saints. Early in December 2020, he was added to the active roster for a game, but a few days later, he was placed on injured reserve. By late September 2021, he was cut go from the Jets. Hampton most recently played for the Edmonton Elks in the CFL during the 2022 season. He did not, however, witness any gameplay.

First Team All-Big South (2017), First-Team Consensus All-American (2019), FCS Running Back of the Year (2019), All-ECAC Second Team (2017), First Team All-Big South (2017), and Second-Team All-Big South (2018) Professional experience includes the 2020 and 2021 New York Jets, 2020 Carolina Panthers, 2021 Pittsburgh Steelers, and 2022 New Jersey Generals (USFL). Following a redshirt year in 2016, Peter Guerriero spent three seasons as a member of the Monmouth University team, making 34 appearances (29 starts). Guerriero attempted 610 rushes for 3,974 yards and 35 touchdowns throughout that span. He would also catch 69 passes for 551 receiving yards and three scores.
