Greetings from the Florida Gators Early Signing Day tracking for 2023! We will maintain a rolling list of all the Gator-related updates that surface on Signing Day below, just as we have for the past few years. So make sure to bookmark this page and return often to stay up to date on events throughout the day!

6:20 p.m.: LJ McCray has officially submitted his letter of intent, while Texas A&M wide receiver Izaiah Williams has signed a contract. Florida’s day is over, and a summary will be posted shortly.

5:53pm: LJ McCray has announced on his Instagram Live that he is, indeed, a Florida Gator! As McCray said, “I don’t know why y’all thought I was flipping, I ain’t going anywhere.” It’s been a rough day for Napier and Florida, but for everything else you might want to say, Napier did get his two most prized commits over the finish line: DJ Lagway and LJ McCray.

5:21pm: five-star LJ McCray as announced that he will be making his final decision at 5:45pm on his Instagram Live. In All Kinds Of Weather staff fully expects him to stick with is commitment to Florida.

4:38pm: the crown jewel of the class, five-star QB DJ Lagway, has sent in his letter of intent.

3:56pm: former Wisconsin receiver Chimere Dike, an ex-teammate of Graham Mertz, has committed to Florida and will sign with the Gators.

3:30pm: It sounds like Florida is about to lose another member of its 2024 class. Wide receiver Izaiah Williams is reported to be flipping to Texas A&M. While it’s true that Florida has two wide receivers ranked far ahead of him in TJ Abrams and Jerrae Hawkins, losing Williams would drop Florida out of the top fifteen of the 247Sports Composite rankings.

2:55pm: As it stands right now, all but three letters of intent are in for the Gators. The only three outstanding letters of intent that Florida is expecting to get from current commits are from five-star QB DJ Lagway, five-star DL LJ McCray, and three-star wide receiver Izaiah Williams. Florida is also expected to get currently uncommitted three-star offensive lineman Favour Smith.

2:20pm: Borderline three/four star DB Gregory Smith III has committed to Florida and sent in his letter of intent. He also had offers from Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Virginia, and Mississippi State.

1:48pm: Another negative update. Four-star defensive lineman Amaris Williams has flipped from Florida to Auburn. That’s two blue chip defensive linemen to flip from Florida to Auburn, the first of which was Jamonta Waller. The Gators’ 2024 recruiting class has now plummeted all the way from #3 in the country to #15 in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

1:30pm: As expected, Florida linebacker commit Adarius Hayes has flipped to Miami. The flip drops Florida out of the top ten in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

1:02pm: Finally, something nice! Four-star running back Jaden Baugh has committed to Florida over Alabama. And, in the name of keeping things transparent: this wasn’t just any offer from Alabama. The Crimson Tide did want Baugh, but simply got beaten out because Florida wanted him more. This day has not gone great for Florida so far overall with the LJ McCray development, but this is an objectively solid get for the Gators. So it’s not all bad!

12:52pm: OT Michai Boireau has sent in his letter of intent.

12:34pm: it’s not really a surprise, but five-star wide receiver prospect Jeremiah Smith will stick with his Ohio State commitment and sign with the Buckeyes. His friendship with Florida QB commit DJ Lagway had some thinking maybe, just maybe, the Gators has a chance here, but it’s not to be.

11:33am: another piece of bad news— albeit one that most Gator fans probably saw coming. Linebacker commit Adarius Hayes is set to announce his final decision at 1pm; the In All Kinds Of Weather staff projects with high confidence that he will flip to the Miami Hurricanes and sign with them. Florida does still have Aaron Chiles and Myles Graham onboard, but that would be yet another hit to what was once a top-3 class.

11:20am: as first reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3, there is a potentially disastrous situation brewing with five-star defensive lineman LJ McCray. The crown jewel of the Gators’ defensive class is now highly unlikely to sign today, as both Auburn and FSU have been making an eleventh-hour push for him and he seems to be torn. He is thought to be announcing his final decision in the next few days.
