Justin Eboigbe, an Alabama defensive lineman selected in the fourth round of last month’s draft, was signed by the Chargers on Thursday. Only their first two draft picks, wide receiver Ladd McConkey in the second round and offensive lineman Joe Alt in the first, remain unsigned. He is the seventh of their nine draft picks to sign.

Eboigbe was a part of the 2020 Crimson Tide squad that went 13-0 and won the national championship. He played in 56 games over the course of five seasons with the club. After overcoming a serious neck injury in 2022, he finished 2023 with 63 tackles—including 11.5 for losses—and seven sacks.

“He does everything right when you watch his film,” Joe Hortiz, general manager of the Chargers, stated last month. He performs the defensive lineman position as we would like. He’s reading, extending, two-gapping, and holding his hat in his hands. He’s got a strong motor. He is physically fit. He is an ingenious pass rusher.
