Christian Barmore and the Patriots are a “game-changing” partnership.
Christian Barmore, a tackle with the New England Patriots, is the perfect starting piece for a strong defensive line, but Jonathan Allen would provide a “game-changing” interior partner. That is Justin Melo of the Draft Network’s perspective. He made note of the fact that Allen, a former first-round selection, will play for the Washington Commanders at “a below-market rate for a game-changing tackle.”
Allen can now be seen as a trade candidate. particularly after Jer’Zhan Newton was chosen by the Commanders in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Pats “possess plenty of wiggle room to trade for Allen and extend his contract,” according to Melo, making them an excellent trade partner.” In addition to having the resources to close a deal, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo is a defensive-minded executive who recognizes the value of dominating play. The Patriots’ roster is full with good defensive lineman, but adding Allen would push them into the “best in the league” category.
Barmore is the best of New England’s elite D-linemen, having earned a hefty salary this summer. Barmore would become even harder for opponents to double thanks to Allen.
