Dylan Roobroeck, a forward, has been signed by the New York Rangers to a three-year, entry-level deal, the team announced on Monday. Chris Drury is the team’s president and general manager.
The 19-year-old center has competed in the Ontario Hockey League for the past three seasons, spending the last two with the Oshawa Generals. Roobroeck scored 125 points (41 goals, 84 assists) in 136 games with Oshawa. He was third on the squad in assists (46) and second in points (72) at the end of the 2023–24 campaign. In the OHL playoffs, the native of London, Ontario, led the team in scoring with 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 26 games. Dylan Roobroeck comes from a family of hockey players. Ryan, his brother, is an excellent forward for the OHL’s Niagara IceDogs. The 16-year-old Ryan is expected to be selected highly in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Ellis remarked, “What strikes me is his playmaking.” “He enjoys manipulating defenders like his brother Ryan and has excellent hands.” In my opinion, Dylan’s hockey IQ is very noteworthy, which is something you would expect from a player with bottom-six forward potential. He simply rushes outside. Dylan is 205 pounds and 6 feet 7 inches tall. In the opening two rounds of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Presidents Trophy-winning Rangers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals. At Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, New York takes on the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final.
