Luke Krys ’23, a former captain of the Browns, signed a two-year entry-level deal with the Dallas Stars that would start in the 2024–25 season. The agreement was first disclosed by the team in March.

In 2022–23, Krys led the Bears as captain and concluded the season with 16 points and 73 blocked shots. He played for Providence College during the 2023–24 season, scoring 17 points in 35 contests. The native of Ridgefield, Connecticut made his professional debut on March 22 with the Texas Stars of the AHL. On April 2, he recorded his first professional point with an assist. Krys scored his first goal as a professional that evening.

Krys has one goal, two points, an even rating, and ten penalty minutes in ten games with Texas. The Stars play the Manitoba Moose in a two-game series in Cedar Park, Texas, on April 19 and 20, to wrap up the AHL regular season. The Texas Stars have secured a berth in the 2024 Calder Cup playoffs and are currently ranked fourth in the Central Division.

Krys enters the professional ranks in North America alongside many Bears. Sam Lafferty ’18 and Garnet Hathaway ’14 are players for the Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers, respectively. Max Willman ’18 is now with the Utica Comets after splitting the season between the New Jersey Devils and them.

With 109 points, Lafferty and the Canucks have secured a spot in the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs and are leading the Pacific Division. With 87 points this season, Hathaway and the Flyers narrowly missed out on the Stanley Cup playoffs. Completing the former Bears in the North American professional levels is Tyler Bird ’18. In 72 games, he has amassed 17 goals and 42 points as the Orlando Solar Bears’ assistant captain.
