Today, guard Tanor Bortolini and tackle Matt Goncalves were signed by the Indianapolis Colts. Seven of the Colts’ nine draft selections from the 2024 NFL Draft have now been signed.
Indianapolis chose Goncalves, who stands 6 feet 6 inches and weighs 317 pounds, in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft (79th overall). During his tenure at Pittsburgh (2019–23), he made appearances in 38 games (24 starts), starting 11 at left tackle and 13 at right tackle.
Goncalves was appointed team captain in 2023. Before sustaining an injury that ended his season, he started the first three games of the season at left tackle.
Goncalves started all 13 games in which he played in 2022, making eight starts at right tackle and five at left tackle. He was chosen for the All-ACC Academic Football Team and earned recognition as a member of the Third Team All-ACC. Pronounce his last name as gunn ZAWL vezz.
The Colts selected 6-4, 303-pound Bortolini in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft (117th overall). 35 games (28 starts) in his time at Wisconsin (2020–23) saw him play 13 starts at center, 8 at left guard, 3 at right guard, 3 at right tackle, and 1 at tight end. Bortolini started at center in all 12 of the games in 2023.
