The Philly 76ers are starting the most significant offseason of Joel Embiid’s career after suffering yet another heartbreaking postseason defeat.
With the final signing of Tobias Harris’ massive contract, Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey will have enough of salary money to surround All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey and star player Joel Embiid.
In case you missed it, the Sixers are about to embark on a somewhat significant offseason. The only member of the Sixers with a guaranteed deal through 2023–24 is Joel Embiid.
Tyrese Maxey will undoubtedly join him, but since the Sixers failed to win a playoff series, Paul Reed’s $7.7 million salary for the upcoming season is no longer guaranteed. The Sixers have a club option on Jeff Dowtin Jr.,
but Ricky Council IV, who they signed to a four-year, $7.4 million contract at the end of the regular season, is completely non-guaranteed for the next campaign.
So, where does that leave the Sixers heading into the offseason? We’re partnering with SalarySwish to use their data and help answer every question you have about the Sixers’ financial situation and what it might mean in free agency.
