While some senior team members have yet to return from their holidays following international tournaments, preseason preparations are now under way. In the interim, the manager is making do with anyone he can while determining the best way to bolster his squad through trades.

It’s usually a challenging chore during summers like this one, and transfer plans are continuously adjusted to fit the situation. However, the team continues to close many transactions that better suit its needs than others, bringing in players they believe will provide instant quality or have a high potential to keep Villa competitive for many years to come while sending others on to their future destinations.

The Athletic claim that although Villa clearly admires their player, they are not likely to make an offer for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher at this time.

Since his contract expires in a year, the midfield player has been linked to a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer. Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly the top contenders to sign him, with a valuation of £50 million.

However, it seems the 24-year-old is no longer required in the West as Amadou Onana is expected to arrive from Everton for £50 million.

As a result, Unai Emery is all out for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho in a cut price deal in order to add more attacking flair for the up coming season.
