Bryce Davis’ announcement provides a significant boost to Clemson Tigers’ Class of 2024, well before early signing day arrives in a few months.
On Saturday, the Clemson Tigers football team received news that defensive lineman Bryce Davis committed to join their Class of 2025. This addition elevated Clemson’s overall class to the 11th position in 247Sports.com’s rankings and as the second-ranked class in the ACC.
Davis, ranked No. 64 nationally regardless of position, hails from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, N.C., standing at 6-3 and 245 pounds as a defensive lineman. Clemson assistant coaches Chris Rumph and Nick Eason led the recruiting efforts. Before his commitment, Davis had also been considering South Carolina, Georgia, Duke, and Alabama.
He explained to reporters why he chose Clemson: “The family atmosphere there is definitely a big factor,” he stated. “Coach Swinney does things differently. It feels like the right fit, and everyone there treats you like you’re part of the family.”
He visited Clemson officially in June, and his commitment remains non-binding until he can sign a national letter of intent in December during the early signing period.
According to 247Sports.com, Clemson’s Class of 2025 now comprises 14 commitments. Leading the group is Amare Adams, a defensive lineman from South Florence High School in South Florence, S.C., ranked No. 35 nationally. Adams committed to Clemson in December of last year.
Other commits include defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell from Southern HS in Durham, N.C.; edge rusher Ari Watford from Maury HS in Norfolk, Va.; cornerback Graceson Littleton from Wiregrass Ranch HS in Zephyrhills, Fla.; safety Tae Harris from Cedartown HS in Cedartown, Ga.; offensive tackle Brayden Jacobs from Buford HS in Buford, Ga.; running back Gideon Davidson from Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Va.; offensive tackle Easton Ware, also from Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Va.; quarterback Blake Hebert from Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn.; wide receiver Carleton Preston from Freedom HS in Woodbridge, Va.; tight end Logan Brooking from Savannah Christian Prep in Savannah, Ga.; offensive tackle Rowan Byrne from Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, N.Y.; and running back Marquise Henderson from Belton-Honea Path in Honea Path, S.C.
Clemson kicks off the 2024 season on August 31 in Atlanta against Georgia. Following the opener, the Tigers return home for three consecutive games: they face Appalachian State on September 7, NC State on September 21 to begin ACC play, and Stanford on September 28, marking their first matchup against one of the conference’s new members, which also includes Cal and SMU.
The remainder of the schedule includes away games at Florida State on October 5 and Wake Forest on October 12, followed by back-to-back home games against Virginia on October 19 and Louisville on November 2. Clemson then travels to Virginia Tech on November 9 and Pitt on November 16, concluding the regular season with home matchups against The Citadel on November 23 and South Carolina on November 30.
