Everton is preparing to honor Kevin Campbell with a tribute, while fans are organizing a gesture following the striker’s funeral…

Ahead of the match against Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton will remember members of the Everton family who passed away this summer. However, there will not be a pre-match tribute to Kevin Campbell this weekend.

To honor ‘Super Kev’ at the opening match of Goodison Park’s final season— the first since his passing— the 1878s fan group is encouraging Everton supporters to chant his name when the clock reaches nine minutes, in recognition of his shirt number during his time at the club.

This tribute will occur after the warm-ups and just before the teams come out for kick-off.

The 1878s will organize a flag and banner display in the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street End prior to kick-off. Fans are kindly requested to leave any flags found at their seats so they can be collected and recycled for future games.

A significant Everton contingent attended a heartfelt funeral service for Campbell in London on Wednesday, August 14. The emotional two-hour service at Additionally, Les Ferdinand and Chris Hughton, who played for Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, were present as well.

His sister AnnMarie Campbell read from Revelation Chapter 21, while his sons Tyrese and Kyle read poignantly from the Book of John. Friends John Simmonds, Gary King, Paul Davis, and Anthony Jordan also paid their respects.
