LeBron James recognized his son Bronny’s NBA potential when he was just 5 years old, noting a natural talent that would only grow.
In a recent media interview, LeBron shared a memorable moment from Bronny’s childhood. He recalled when Bronny grabbed a rebound, dribbled the length of the court, and made a layup, leading him to tell Bronny’s mother, “He’s special.” She responded, “What? He’s only 5. What do you mean?” LeBron replied, “I’ve seen this before. I know.”
LeBron himself was a child prodigy, dominating his teams and earning the nickname “The Chosen One” at Lower Merion High School. He bypassed college to enter the NBA, where he quickly made his mark. Although he narrowly missed the All-Star team in 2004, he won Rookie of the Year honors with the Cavaliers, averaging 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game.
By 17, LeBron envisioned himself as one of the greatest players in history and dedicated himself to building a legacy. Now, over 20 years later, he is firmly in the GOAT conversation with 4 championships, 4 MVP titles, and the all-time leading scorer in NBA history.
