After Sixth Consecutive Defeats Raiders Make Gardner Minshew Announcement As Raider Accept Defeat On Yet Another Chargers Reject~ Antonio Pierce Puts Job In Question After New Admission

The Las Vegas Raiders are currently in the midst of a six-game losing streak, and there’s little indication that their schedule will get any easier. The team has tried various approaches to spark a turnaround, including switching quarterbacks and altering the offensive staff, but none have proven successful so far. With head coach Antonio Pierce potentially coaching for his job, winning games could complicate the team’s pursuit of a top draft pick.

However, before their Week 11 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Pierce stated that quarterback Gardner Minshew gave them the best chance to win. Despite his struggles, it’s clear that Minshew hasn’t performed as expected. Pierce emphasized last week that they wanted to give him a fair chance and confirmed on Monday that Minshew would start against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

According to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, Aidan O’Connell won’t be eligible to come off IR until the following week. Minshew has had trouble holding onto the ball this season, passing for over 1,700 yards, with eight touchdowns and nine interceptions, and posting a 39.1 QBR.

Antonio Pierce’s inaugural season as the full-time head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders has not gone as expected. The team is struggling with a 2-8 record, sitting last in the AFC West, and enduring a six-game losing streak. During the bye week, Pierce made a bold decision by firing offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello, and offensive line coach James Cregg.

While this move was daring for a first-year head coach, Pierce later revealed that part of the reasoning behind the firings was to improve his chances of keeping his job. Speaking to CBS ahead of the Raiders’ Week 11 game against the Miami Dolphins, Pierce admitted that he made the changes to help secure his future with the team.

CBS analyst Jay Feely praised Pierce for making such a tough decision mid-season, acknowledging that it was not easy for a new coach. However, given the Raiders’ continued struggles, including their poor offensive performance in the loss to the Dolphins, it remains uncertain if the move will have a lasting positive impact.
