NEW YORK GIANTS SIGN QB PLAYER WHO IS BETTER THAN Andrew Thomas.
Giants Make Quarterback Active IR’s Tyrod Taylor
Although Taylor’s activation was anticipated, he will continue to play quarterback backup.
In advance of their Monday night matchup with the Green Bay Packers, the New York Giants have activated quarterback Tyrod Taylor from injured reserve.
Taylor’s 21-day window opened last Tuesday after he sustained a rib cage injury during the team’s overtime loss to the New York Jets in Week 8. Taylor was able to take part in all of the practice sessions, and it was expected that he would be added to the 53-man roster. This was especially the case after quarterback Matt Barkley, who has since re-signed with the practice squad, was waived by the team to make room for Taylor.
This season, Taylor has made seven appearances, starting three of them, and has a 1-2 record. 57 out of 87 pass attempts by him have been completed for 579 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.
But Wally’s replacement for starter Daniel Jones (ACL), Taylor, was defeated by Tommy DeVito, who has won two of his previous three starts. Since DeVito is the team’s hot hand, head coach Brian Daboll made the decision to keep him as the starting pitcher on Tuesday.
Daboll announced his choice by saying, “I think Tommy’s done a good job; he’s improved in each of the games he’s played.” “I thought he played well the last two games, made good decisions, was accurate with the football, and earned the right to play.”
