New Zealand Warriors Has Agreed With The $350 Deal With.

End of Season Review: NZ Warriors

Center Jackson Ford, a second rower, and Rocco Berry have both received contract extensions for their outstanding performances in the One New Zealand Warriors’ historic 2023 campaign.

Following their career-best seasons, Berry, 22, and Ford, 25, who were both out of contract at the end of 2024, re-signed, Berry for 2026 and Ford for 2025.

With 16 games played this year, Berry more than doubled his career total to 31 after making just 15 appearances combined in 2021 and 2022.

Ford experienced a similar transformation in his first season in Auckland, going from an inconsistent first grader with St George Illawarra to a first-choice starting back rower who played in 24 of the team’s 27 games.

According to Andrew McFadden, general manager of recruitment, pathways, and development for the New Zealand Warriors, “Rocco and Jackson both thrived in the new environment created this season.”

“Their games reached a new level this year, like so many other players in the squad, and there’s every reason to believe they’ll improve even more next year and beyond.”

Andrew Webster, the head coach of the New Zealand Warriors, expressed his happiness at the players’ recognition for their efforts.

“What’s amazing about Rocco and Jackson is their constant motivation to improve,” he remarked.

Their dedication and passion serve as excellent models for what we look for in our players.

Throughout the season, Rocco made incredible progress and gained self-assurance as he demonstrated his abilities and was able to string several games together.

“Jackson never let his standards slip; he hit the ground running the moment he arrived here and demanded a starting spot in round one.”

In his final NRL season, Berry finished with three tries, eight try assists, ten line break assists, four line breaks, and 31 tackle breaks. He also averaged 75 metres and 17 tackles per game (with a 91 per cent efficiency rate), forming a formidable combination on the right edge with winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

His 2023 campaign came to an end in October at Eden Park when he led the New Zealand Kiwis A to a 36-26 victory over Mate Ma’a Tonga A.

Ford played the entire 80 minutes 15 times and the entire 82 minutes in the Raiders game that resulted in a golden point; in the other two games, he played 77 and 78 minutes. Ford was used as a starting second rower in all but one of his 24 games. Averaging 103 metres and 35 tackles per game, he made nine line breaks, 73 tackle breaks, and scored four tries.
